The only reason a teenager should have a CC is the financial responsibility to teach. The youth should be fully responsible to pay the bill and understand the consequences of failure to pay the bill.
I'm not a fan of teens in the CC.
For most, the answer is "not very good." To learn to use credit, you must learn to spend more than you save, win a portion of his winnings, and payments of debt (must be less than 35% of their income, most of them should have a mortgage).
But I suspect that you are trying to mom and dad talk a credit card, so you have one, and your friends. The arguments for are:
1. Convenience - You save trips to the bank or ATM fees for cash.
2. Safety - actually more than the rights of consumers with cc instead of cash, you (a fee may conflict with your cc company) pay
3. Rewards - Many credit card companies for payment of reward miles when you use a credit card.
4. Building good credit - is only true if you are the person who is responsible for the payment, true only for older teenagers.
Never carry a balance that you pay interest. Interest is the opposite of a bargain. This means you pay more than anyone else.
I do not think this is good stuff. Young people are very rude. How many of us have signed their credit card to get a free T-shirt?

It is good to buy the promotion of a "now, pay later" lifestyle. Let's face it ... Banks and credit card companies make money with good interest, overlimit fees, late payments, etc. How can you say this good for young people to "charge" because the money for what you at the time. Having credit cards is good but their use is another story. You do not have my support in the evidence that credit cards are good and less than 18 years, the financial responsibility for parents. As parents are responsible with their money?
